With effect from May 8th, 1930, Sir Stewart Symes, K.B.E., C.M.G., D.S.O., Resident and Commander-in-Chief in Aden, has been granted leave. With effect from May 8th, 1930, Lieutenant Colonel B.R. Reilly, C.I.E., O.B.E., First Assistant Resident at Aden, was officially appointed Resident and Commander-in-Chief in Aden. When Sir Stewart Symes, K.B.E., C.M.G., D.S.O., was chosen to represent Aden at the Colonial Office Conference in June and July 1930, it was decided that his attendance should be considered duty and that he should depart for 4 weeks on full ordinary pay
