Compensation granted by Western Railway under the W.C. Act Shri E.L. Regheline is the assistant foreman of the Dohad foundry shop. The case of Shri E.L. Regheline, Foreman of the Foundry Shop in Dohad, W.R., wherein, upon learning of an employee's assault, he rushed to the scene to investigate and ended up getting attacked. The Railway administration said that the employee did not qualify for benefits under the Workman's Compensation Act since he was covered by Section II of the Act and received more than the Rs. 500/-limit specified in that section. The worker submitted an application for workman's compensation to the commissioner, who granted the worker's request. The High Court upheld the workman's compensation commissioner's decision despite the Railway's appeal to the court. The Railway requested and received permission from the Board to appeal the case to the Supreme Court. Subsequently, the Railway appealed the High Court's decision with a special leave petition before the Supreme Court
