Ministry of Labour and Employment The industrial Disputes Act, 1947-Section 25-F Question whether retrenchment compensation to be paid before the second day from the date of retrenchment as has been provided for in the payment of Wages Act or it should be paid on the date of termination of service. The Labour Ministry were requested to consider the desirability of issuing instructions to the officials of the C.I.R.M. not to raise objection against the present practice followed by the Railway in the matter. It was also pointed to that Ministry that as provisions relating to the time of payment of retrenchment compensation made in the I.D.Act and of the wages(which covered retrenchment compensation also) in the payment of wages act conflict each other, the discrepancy could be removed by suitably amending one of the Acts preferably the Indl. Disputes Act, 1947
