The Northern Railway was notified of the following procedures approval: 1. To enforce the scheme requiring station masters grade I to be promoted as S.Ms. grade II only through the channel of assistant station masters grade II; and 2. To confirm and grant seniority to those Asstt. Station Master grade II who were promoted as such over the station masters grade I who refused promotion and were ipso facto barred from further promotions. This is a reference from the President of the Punjab and Northern Railway Union regarding the channel of promotion and fixation of station master grade I
