Extract from a letter dated the 27th July ,from (Mr.T.Snodgrass) Resident at Ganjam.to the Governor of Council of Fort St.George giving a harrowing picture of the prevalling famine urging the necessity of large supplies of rice ,and recommending that if supplies are sufficient the number of poor people employed at Ganjam may be increased .
