Question of the Nationality of Mr. Bernard John Schmidt, a subject of the Mysore State, who was born in British India of German parents at a time when they were interned was enemy aliens during War. Decision that Mr. Schmidt can neither be regarded as a British born subject nor can be granted a certificate of naturalization under Section 2(1) (a) of the Act as residence in an Indian State is not regarded as equivalent to residence in British territory.
