Transmitting copy of a despatch from the adjt. Genl. H.M's forces in India no. 161 of the 31st ult. regarding the issue of lt. hewitt 18th Royal Irish from the comiissariat chest at Sydney new south wales of the sum of rs. 100-19-. being pay for augt. sept. and oct. 1851 of fthe detachement of that corps under his command which procced hence as a gurard over convicts to van diemans land.
