With refrence to Mily Department, letter no 127 of the 15 Dec'r 1851. states that the Commander in Chief fully concurs with the Supg Engineer N.W.P that it is in nomay advisable, to repair, the present fortress, of mooltan, with a view to it being reduced defensiable, and occupied as a military Post that His Excy prefectly consider in the Opinion of the governor General , that the Work of much smaller area would, be sufficient, to meet all the uses for a which afortified, post, is likely to be required, at Mooltan.
