In reply to his despatch no. 430 of the 15th instt. Forwards a ltr. from Mr. W.Shand late a Leiut. in the 69th N.I. dismised the service by sentence of a Genl. Court martial published in G.A.G.G. 15th July 1848 soliciting to be provided with a passage to Europ[e at the expenses of the state.
