With reference to a letter of the 31st december last relative to the salary of the station staff officer at moulmein transmits copy of a commander from the adjt genl of the army on the subjects states that govt concur with the c in c considering to be decidely undesirable that a gegt staff officer shoiuld beemployed also station staff where as at Moulmein be would beplaced in consequence under the orders of two separate commd. officers & as it has been shown that for a writer alone it has been found necessary to pay the whole amount at present allowence as staff salary.
