In reply to his despatch no1001 of the 3rd instant Submits for considration copy correspondence noted in the annexed list being an appeal from capture warner of the arty regt. against a retrencht of a portion of the staff allowance drawn by him as commissinary of orders with the arty of the suttege the audr. genl. having declined to lay the cose before govt. officer explanation and as a special case the C.in chief does not hesitate to and commend that the higher rate of remuneration may be passed to that officer.
