In reply to his lr.No.23 of the 18th ultimo.Submits copy of a lr. No.34 dt.,25th Augt. 1848 from Mr.Principal Sub Asst. J.Peyton, relative to the probable contingent expences of his operations with great Trigel. Survey, & recommends an advance of Cos.Rs.3500 may be placed t Mr. Peyton disposal with the last practicable delay that officers.
