In reply to their letter no. 3284 of the 7th Instt. submitting a bill for addition sand alterations to the Treasury gate Quarters in Fort William amounting to Rs. 1023, observing that the amount of the Estimate for this work which had been submitted with their letter no. 441 of the 22nd May 1846 was Rs. 801 so that the amount now recommended to be passed to be passed Viz. Rs. 806.11.5 is in Excess of that Estimate never the less the Honble the President in Council is pleased to pass the bell with the Exception of Rs. 216.6.1 for extra work executed at the request of the Town Major without proper Authority and observing an the great delay that has occured in the submission of the bill.
