With reference to a letter of the 27th may last requesting him to report on the retrospective effect directed tobe given to the nowgong station order of the 22nd april apprasaint lieutt ferris instructor and 2r mr 55 native infantry I to be staff officer and to have charge of the mily chest at that station states that in a commn to the act g resident at fort mallro of 22nd july 1824 govt had decided that netrospective allowance were net tobe recommended except on the clearest and strongest grounds that in the present the expense from the 13th march the retrospective date is that of the station order 22nd april last will be Rs 370- 3-5 pounds outa the 13th major jellicoc 55the native infantry was nominated
