Stating with reference to his letter of the 1st instt. that the Govr. Genl. in his note, allowed to withint expressed his hope of being ble to give the wounded men of H.Ms. 40 foot medals himself an animal in Calcutta & not to the invalids of that corps and that the wound of H.MS. 39th & 40th are nearly 90 men.
