With refec.to a despatch of th e16th decr. 1842 trasnmits copy lr. from the Mily Audr. genl. reporting that there are at present eight Ensign with her Ms. 57th and 84th ret beign one on each corps in excess of the estabt. fixed by teh ciruclar lr. from teh secy at war dated 31st march 1842.
