Genl. at madras, reporting that at the Presy. of Fort St. George, European, non - commissioned officers and rank and file, equially with european commissioned and Warrant officers when located at any station exceeding 200 miles of direct distance from Fort St.George received precisely the same rates of pay with ratios as they are entitled to draw when marching or on actual field service sanctioned under the rules, and at the rates, promulgated in the G.A.G. no. 122 of 1840.
