With refe. to a lr. of the 27th March last states that promotions on occasions of augmentation to the Army taking place both in respect to commissioned and non-commissioned grades are made from teh date of the G O or other intimation of the Augmentation reaching the Head Quarters of the corps or detaht. to which the men belong with refe. to the decisions of govt. of 19th Novr. 1838 and 9th Decr. 1839..
