In reply to No. 9, dated 15th ultimo, informs him, for reasons given, that there is no precedent to warrant the bestowal of the Order of Merit to Jemadar Syud Ulvee in recognition of his gallant services in the late encounter with the Wagheer, but confers on the Jemadar the title of Khan Bahadoor, together with a Khillut of Rupees 500.
