Decision that the amount credited to the Opium Department on account of the sale-proceeds of Bengal Excise opium should be raised from Rs.7-4 to Rs.8-8 a seer with effect from the 1st July 1895. Acceptance of the proposal of the Government of Bengal that the price of medical opium to Government should be raised to Rs.8-8 a seer for cakes and Rs.9-4 a seer for powdered opium, and that the price of such opium to Native Chiefs and Railway authorities, etc., should be raised to Rs.11-4 and Rs. 12 a seer for cakes and powered opium respectively. Orders on the proposal to raise the Treasury price of opium in Bengal by one rupee a seer with a view to recover the greater portion of the increase in the cost price of Excise opium.
