Department and its enclosers together with a correspec. relating to the Public neacessaries in the vicinity of Towns and Stations having been refred to this department that observes that the correspce. has direct reference to the conservancy of the Cantoments of Raneegunge and its vicinity - the local Civil Authorrities states that there is a legale diffeculty in enforcing the use of public necessaries and furnishing necessaries beyond the limit of the Cantonents- the attention of the Govt. of Bengal has been drawn to what has been done in the N. W. P. the insturction issued in the N. W. P. have allredy been communitcated to the local Authoritios in Bengal, and it is open to the Lt. Governor to adapt similar measures in the Lower Provincis especially in the naighborhood of Cantonents amd other Station whether presence of Europeans in considerable nos. re
