Copy of a letter from Mr. James Taylor Assary Master of the Mint at Fort St. George, to the President and Council of fort St. George, enclosing the account of the coining charges of the 4 chests of treasure consigned to Sir Eyre Coote, explaining why these charges are son heavy alos enclosing the assay report of the bullion, sowing it to be much below the standard specified in the invoice , and sending smaples of the bullion ,before it was refined.
