From Secretary - Submits correspondence with the Commissioner of Assam on the subject of introducing a System of Education in that Province being in reply to orders dated 17th June 1835 and Courts Dispatch dated 3rd December 1834. The Committee have instituted a School at Gowahattee at a monthly charge of sum of Rs. 200. Concurs in the expediency of appropriating the Tax on the lands for the support of Priests & Brahmins to the purpose of Education, & direct attention to the Commissioners suggestions to encourage the location of European Settlers analogons to those of the Moravian.
