From Secretary to the Governor General - In reply to letter of 20th Ultimo regarding certain letters from the Governor Generals Private & Military Secretaries having been charged with Postage. Transmits copy of a Memorandum by Mr. Pakenham explanatory of the circumstances referred to by the Post Master General. Arrangement in Governor Generals Minute transmittted 29th August to be adhered to. The New Rule for the Private & Military Secretarys will only interfere with the existing Rule so far as concerns those Officers.
