From Marine Board - Submit for Orders copy of a letter from Captain Ross Marine Surveyor General and its enclosures from Lieut. Lloyd his Assistant having reference to their Allowances as Officers of the Indian Navy - With respect to Captain Ross consider him entitled to all the emoluments of a Command while on Shore or Afloat but as regards Lieut. Lloyd, are of Opinion that his standing in the Indian Navy gives him no claim to a Command afloat & an Allowance of 500 Rs. a month except with reference to the case of Lieut. Moresly & Law quoted by him - Suggest that the difference between the Bombay pay of Captain Ross & Lieut. Lloyd as unemployed Officers and their Command Allowance be paid & charged for to the Supreme Government.
