To Officiating Director General - In reply to the foregoing conveys the thanks of the G. G. in C. for the full clear and satisfactory Report which he has drawn up and punishmentally submitted. Requests as soon as the state of the accounts admit of it he will investigate closely and submit a special Report on the increase which has taken place in the aunual expense of the Department since 1853/54 amounting to Rs. 10264 pointing out the particular items of increase and stating what reductions can be made without detriment to the # of the Service. With reference to his remarks regarding the N. W. Dank Bengalow Fund having as large ascamulated surplas invested in Government securities observes that the investiment of Capital in Government securities in such a case appears tobe objectionable. the Notes should be sancelled and the amount shewrs at the credit of the Dank Bugalow Fund and unless that should be any special objection requests this cawse may be adopted atonse.
