To Chief Secretary - Explaining that Captain Low was appointed Assistant Resident at Provence Wellesley with the understanding that his Military pay & allowances were to be continued to him in addition to his civil salary. Requests that the retrenchment lately or dered by the Madras Government may be taken off as respects the allowances already drawn by that officer, he having heen authorized to draw a Consolidated Salary equivalent to the total amount of pay civil & Military hitherto recieved by him.
