To Director General - With reference to the above observes that his report the showing satisfactory progress generally & especially in relation to the reduction of postage on letters & newspapers in incomplete & points out in what respects. Further that in very particular the report is less satisfactory in regard to Bengal than to any other Presidency and to which attention is directed - Calls for an early report upon the Post Office for the past official year including a comparative financial statement for 1853/54 and 1854/55 fo the amount received & expended under each head of account and a comparasion of the results of the 2 years.
