To In reply to letter of 30th June - Sanctions the adoption of the revised List by Mr. Ibbetson amounting including Pensions and Charitable allowances to the annual Sum of Rs. 235,365- 4- 6 also the various Department at Prince of Wales Island on the scales therein proposed. A report on the Schools requested, theri progress, system of Education, number of Pupils etc. And further explanationof the Nature of the charges to be incurred for Contingencies and supplies to the various Department estimated at Rs. 18,000 Per Annum. Sanctions the Detachment of Artillery being kept up at Penang as heretofore.
