The Director General of the Post Office - With reference to Home letter dated 8th Ultimo forwards two communication from Mr. Allen manager of the N. W. Dak Company stating the terms on which he prepared to contract for the conveyance of certain number of soldiers dully from raneegunge to Benares & as the purposal now made deffers so matercally from that stated in the letter above quoted defers entering into any definite engagement with Mr. Allen without further order & Comments his views on the proposition to bind government to take any number of available carriages up to 18 on two days # and to take what carriage # for 4 months certain.
