With reference to a difference of opinion between the Secretary & the Clerk to the Legislative Council as to whether the Bills passed by the Council and sent for the assent of the Governer General should after receiving the signature of the Governer General be recorded in the office of the Legislative Council or in the Home Office, communicates to the Legislative Council that it has been determined that in all cases the original Bill bearing the signature of the President should be sent with a written message signed by the Clerk of the Council for the Governer Generals assent and having received the signature of the Governer General be returned to the Legislative Council with a written message signed by the Secretary in the Home Department.
