Secretary Bengal - With reference to Letter dated 6th July last forwards Copy of a report from the Director of Public Instruction and states that the Lieutenant Governor concurs in the recommendation made by that Government that the Course of instruction now goin on in the Presidency College should not be interfered with during the present sessions. Explains that the statement contained in the 11th para of Under Secretarys Letter dated 28th February last respecting the non approval of the appointment of an Assistant Professor in the Legal Branch was erroneous.
