In reply No. 2660 dated 11th ultimo, points out that by rules, the Protector of Emigrants is the proper person, in the first instance, to take charge of the property left by deceased return Emigrants, whether it be intended for transmission to their heirs or for distriction that the money bequeathed to the poor by return Emigrants who may kie on the voyage should be distributed in the Colony whendce the deceased may have embarked, appears to be altogether unreasonable.
