In reply to Ltr. no. 607 of the 17th dec. 1853, submits coy of one form brigadier Wilkinson C.D. commanding at Delhi explainng with an expressin of despatch regret for trhe error of having ordred undue military honors on the ocasion that in directing 59 not 64 minute guns to be fired at the furneral of the late Sir T.T. Metcalfe Bttn. agent to the Lieut. metcalfe Bt. Agent to the Liuet. Govr. N.W.P. he was guded by what had been done at the funeral of thelate Mr. Fraser, resident whose position the deceased occupied.
