With reference to his ltr. no. 31 of teh 11th inst. relative to the preventin of soles and excavations being dug in Mily. Cantt. requstign him to solicit the notice of the commander in chief to the 1st para of this dept. to 886 dated 23rd ultimo to his address in whihc it was stated that Govt. doubted the expediency.
