States in reply that the claim of Brigade cotton to the superior allowance for the command of the peshawur Division has effect only from the date of his assuming command in the rank of Brigade General vizt 19th june 1855. and not from the date of any vacancy int he Divisional staff or while in temporary command as the senior officer in the Division .
