Duty on Charas. Protest of Kashmir traders against the imposition, by the Government of the North-Western Provinces and Oudh, of a duty of 80 a maund of charas imported into those Provinces. Petition of traders for the exemption from duty in the Punjab and North-Western Provinces of 700 maunds of charas remaining over from last year's stock, rejected. Resolution of the Finance and Commerce Department leaving it to the Local Governments concerned to take any action they may consider desirable
