With reference to the correspondence ending with the letter from the Foreign Department No. 681P of 26th April 1870, forwards copy of a despatch from Her Majesty`s Secretary of State for India, approving of Colonel Haughton`s manner of dealing with the Bhutanese envoy, the Deb Tapoy, in connection with the recent occurrences in Bhutan, and sanctioning the resumption of the former friendly communications with the rulers of Tibet.
