Amendment of rule 11 of the rules regulating the General provident fund regarding the grant of advances for special purposes. Decision that (1) no second advance should be sanctioned unless a year has elapsed since the complete recovery of a previous advance; (2) an additional 12th or 25th installment equivalent to 3 or 6 percent of the advance, respectively, should be paid by a subscriber after complete recovery of an advance, to represent interest there on; (3) No additional installment taken should be recovered when a subscriber repay the advance in less than 12 installments; and (4) the reasons for the relaxation of rule 11(3) should always be communicated to the Account officer by the authority sanctioning the advance, even when they are confidential. Exemption from the operation of rule 11 (5) of the Muhammad an subscribers who on religious grounds object to take interest on their deposits in the fund Interpretation of the term “strong reason” in rule 11(3).
