Notes on the following subjects submitted for consideration of Cabinet Sub-Committee on States Reorganisation. (i) the Bihar and West Bengal (Tranfer and Territories) Bill, 1958. (ii) Salaries of High Court Judges; (iii) proposal to establish separate High Courts for Maharashtra, Gujarat and the Union territory of Bombay; (iv) proposal to increase the strength of the Legislative Assemblies of Mysore, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. (v) creation of Legislative Councils in Madhya Pradesh; Andhra-Telangana and Maharashtra. (vi) provision for the equitable division of movable goods among the dividing area of the existing states; (vii) suggestion that arrangements should be made for the division of surplus of Greater Bombay among the States of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Mysore; (viii) compensation for buildings located in the capital or other cities of the states affected by the scheme of reorganisation. (ix) continuance of grants-in-aid under article 278 of the Constitution to the Part B States after the 41st March, 1957. (x) location of the capitals of teh new or reorganised states; (xi) proposal to amend clause of the constitution (Ninth Amendment) Bill regarding contributions to the Devasom Fund (xii) amendments proposed to the precautions contained in Part II of the states Reorganisation Bi (Territorial changes and formation of new states). 2. Decision that in regard to the specific question of the external territories proposal to be transferred from Bihar to West Bengal, no modification need be made for the time being in the provision contained in Part II of the Bihar and West Bengal (Transfer of Territories) Bill, 1956
