Payment of wages Act, 1936. The ministry of Labour requested that the instructions issued by the C.L.C. to the R.L.Cs. that withholding of increments and reduction to 1 ower grades were ultra video of the payment of wages Act, were causing embarrasament tot he Rlys. Decision taken by the Ministry of Labour that, as there had been no uniformity in the ruling given bu the Law Courts or in the Legal opinion given on the legality of imposing such punishments, pending amendment of the payment of Wages Act, the Industrial Relations Machinery should not interfere when Railway Administrations impose such punishments under service Rules. Necessary instructions issued by the C.L.C. to the R.L.C.s. communicating the above decision, circulated to railway Administrations
