The Railway issued an amendment to Rule 1314(2)(e)-R of Appendix XXV-R stating that a Railway Servant who is physically or mentally incapacitated for the post which he occupys but is not incapacitated for performing other duties and who does not accept alternative employment may be granted S.C. under this amendment. Statistics regarding cases where gratuity has been refused for failure of the employees to accept alternative employment, offered by the Railway in cases of mental or physical incapacity
