Railway Uniforms Committee, 1957 (Uniforms) Report on the decisions made by the Board. (i) A list of the staff categories that the Railways will receive uniforms for (ii) The Board established the updated uniform styles and sea of supply for the 19 primary categories. The Railways are required to determine which of these styles to use by comparing their tasks with those of the principle categories. (iii) Gangmen and commercial clerks shall not be issued uniforms; nevertheless, the current practise may be followed on railroads where uniforms are currently issued; as an exception, research and inquiry clerks on all railroads shall be issued uniforms. (iv) for a few peculiar categories that we currently have and for which uniforms are not advised by the uniform may persist; (v) The current drill should be replaced with blue will made drill instead of khadi; (vi) The updated acales and atyles should be implemented starting in the winter of 1963-1981 and summer of 1964, but the uniforms made in the current styles should be used up to their limit; (vii) Railways may keep providing protective clothing on the current scales.
