Issue of free railway passes to the candidates called for test / interview by the Railway. Service Commission / Railway Administrations. Decision, that free passes may be issued to the candidates summoned for test / interview by the Railway Service- Commissions and the Railway Administrations in the following cases only. (A) Passes to be issued irrespective of the fact whether the recruitment is to be made on regional or all- India basis in the following cases:- (i) To Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates, (ii) To Handicapped Ex- Military personnel; (It is intended for Railway Administration only) (iii) To candidates in technical and medical categories if the recruitment is from amongst Diploma or Degree holders; (iv) To candidates for their second journey from and to their places of residence irrespective of category and community whenever interview is cancelled due to unavoidable reasons such as illness of the Chairman / Member of the Commission; (v) To candidates to cover their second journey from and to their places of residence irrespective of community appearing for stenographer's test when written and practical tests including interviews are held on two different dates at an interval exceeding five days. (B) Except as provided above passes may be issued in other categories as listed in the Bd's letter No E(NG)61.RR1/1 dated 16-1-63 only to those candidates who apply for posts from places outside the region concerned. 2. The class of pass to be issued to a candidate should be determined on the basis of the initial pay of the post for which he is being considered subject to the condition that in no case candidate should be issued a pass higher than in second classes. These orders remain in force up to 31-12-1964
