Eastern Railway - Inquiry as to whether an L.G.S. officer serving in the Senior scale, whose substantive pay was Rs. 410/-on 1.1.47 (the date from which he wishes to elect), and whose fixation of pay will come to Rs. 425/-on 1.1.47, would have to show up for the Efficiency Bar Test at stage Rs. 500/-in the prescribed scale. Board's letter E(S)52CPC/160 dated 23.5.53 made the decision that, in such cases, the efficiency bar should operate at the first increment that is due after the date of the option allowed
