Board's decision reached at a meeting with the National Federation of Indian Railwaymen on 16th July 1957 that the serving railway employees permitted to apply for posts being filled by direct recruitment through the Railway Service Commissions will be granted relaxation of age limit to the extent of 5 years. Decision that the unskilled staff may be permitted to apply for jobs of Trade Apprentices and given relaxation of age limit by 3 years only. Reference from the Northern Eastern Railway
