Southern Railway-Question of recovery for overdrawal of food relations drawn by staff at concessional rates in excess of the prescribed limit. Decision that if part of the dearness allowance was paid to an employee in the shape of concessions in prices of food grains purchased from the railway ration shops, overdrawing of food rations would amount to over payment of dearness allowance hence adjustment under Section 7(2) of the payment of Wages Act from out of the salary or wages on account of such over payment would not be illegal. The above decision was subsequently reversed
