Bill of 1964: Indian Trade Unions (Amendment). The following changes were suggested: (i) A five-year ban from holding public office would be imposed on those found guilty of crimes against moral turpitude under the Indian Penal Code. (ii) From now on, registered trade unions' annual reports to the Registrar of Trade Unions will be made on a calendar year basis; (iii) Officer will be interpreted as office-bearer wherever it appears in the Act. (iv) Going forward, the Indian Trade Union Act of 1926 will be referred to as the Trade Union Act of 1926. Since the proposed amendment was unlikely to have an impact on the relationship between the Railway Administration and the trade unions representing railway workers, no comments were made
