In reply to No.954A, dated 18th August, states that no Rules have been laid down by the Government in the Home Department with regard to the occupation of bungalows in cantonments by other than Military men, but that, under Section 17, Act XX of 1864, they will originate with the Local Governments, and be confirmed by the Governor General in Council under Section 18
