Allowance in lieu of mileage to running staff for attending Hindi examination. Decision: Running staff appearing in Hindi examination should be paid allowance in lieu of mileage in accordance with rule VIII of the revised running allowance rules and the Board's letter No. E(S)159/28 dated 12-10-59. Subject to conditions specialised below: (1) A member of the running staff shall be eligible for allowance in lieu of mileage for the first appearance at a Hindi examination provided he secures not less than 25% marks out of the total marks allotted. (2) A member of the running staff who has once been paid allowance in lieu of mileage in respect of an examination in which he fails to pass, shall be eligible for allowance in lieu of mileage for that examination on a second occasion only if he passes that examination. Orders have effect from 1-3-66
